APPI is a Brazilian company with a deep technical and marketing knowledge in two distinct areas:
Network protocols
Electronic Financial Transactions - EFT
These competences were reflected in the pioneering projects the company developed for clients such as Visanet, Redecard, American Express, GTech, Siemens, PROSA-Mexico, Sermepa-Spain, among others.
As part of its innovative strategy APPI was the first company worldwide to develop and implement, in 1998, the TCP/IP and PPP protocols for a POS -Point of Sale- terminal, which enabled the use of POS terminals on an internet environment. In 2001, as part of its innovation roadmap in the area of EFT, the company developed the POSWEB browser for POS terminals. This innovative technology allows the use of a POS terminal as a thin client in a TCP/IP network. Currently, POSWEB is the most complete acquirer-class browser for POS terminals available on the market, and APPI has focused the development of its business strategy around this technology launching several other important products for POS terminal application development and POS network control and management.
